What is the average cost to rewire a house?
The rule of thumb is that it should be £1000 per bedroom for a standard rewire. If the customer wants recessed lights, external lights, usb sockets, extra sockets then they would be priced accordingly. This applies to the area which I live in, it would obviously be higher in London.
Why are my sockets / electrical outlets not working if the fuse hasn't tripped?
If the circuit breaker hasn’t tripped the fault is called an open circuit. That means that the power leaves the consumer unit and does not arrive at the sockets. There will be a break in the cable somewhere. It could be also that there is a loose connection at the first socket which would prevent power from reaching the subsequent sockets.
