We've had some really poor tradespeople over the years, so we're always cautious in picking someone. However CD Electrical have done so fantastic work at our house over the last 18 months and the last visit was for a fuse board change and overhaul. We implicitly trust them to conduct the work to the highest standard and electrics is something that we don't want amateurs messing around with in our home. Helpful, polite, courteous, tidy, punctual and completed the job on budget and to a high standard. I know it sounds a little gushing, but I cannot recommend CD Electrical enough. They will be working on a project in our garden later in the year too and we've recommended them to our family and friends too.

Why are my sockets / electrical outlets not working on one wall?
There could be a number of reasons for this and the best way to investigate would be through fault finding. Obvious first things to check would be that there are no tripped circuits at the consumer unit. If this wall of sockets is a more recent addition it could be powered from a local spur or fuse rather than the main board. Other issues could be a loose connection, rodent damage or water damage. Always consult a qualified electrician rather than trying to disconnect and check connections yourself.
How much does an electrical safety check / electrical installation condition (EICR) report cost?
the cost of an Electrical Inspection Condition Report can vary dependant on afew main factors. In the domestic market homes tend to have 1 or 2 consumer units depending on the scale of the property and if it has economy 7 supplies. The quantity of circuits and consumer units will be the main factor in pricing up an EICR, the more circuits the more testing and information to gather. Additionally things like accessibility to wiring accessories like lights, sockets and switches can slow down or speed up testing time. As a rule we charge a minimum of £125.00 but we charge per circuit and per consumer unit. As an example a standard property with 1 consumer unit and 7 circuits would cost £220.00. Commercial premises are totally different an the prices will be based on consumer units and circuits but additionally operational limitations if there are things like computers or machinery that can't just be turned off for testing.
Which outdoor lights are the best?
As long as the fittings are suitably IP rated (waterproof) for the environment they are going in then the world really is your oyster when it comes to outside lights. But how about multi colour changing lights? - The colour finish on the fittings: Black, White, Grey, Green, or how about bare metal finishes like Steel, Bronze or Brass? - How to control them: Switches, Timers, Sensors or Smart controls by Controllers or Phone Apps
