With the modern improvement any floor covering can not be used with an underfloor heating system. The only thing is to check the suitable of the product for underfloor because of the constant temperature. With this in mind your adhesive and sealants should state their suitability for underfloor heating.

All types of floor is suitable for underfloor heating, both wet and dry systems. Tiles work really well and you will immediately feel a big difference when the heating is on. It would be best to consult your installers in advance as the underfloor heating system would ned to be designed to suit the chosen floor covering.

You can get underfloor heating fitted in pretty much any home and under almost any type of flooring. It can also be tailored to your needs, the room it will sit in and the flooring type, so that you get the right heat output for your home. This including vinyl, laminate, stone and ceramic flooring. The last two are ideal because they are better conductors and will hold the heat for longer. But underfloor heating will even work under carpet although it’s wise to keep it to 1.5 tog, otherwise it could actually absorb most of the heat before it enters the room.
