To remove sealant there are many tools now available on the market, some better than others. I like using one that screwfix sell for around £9. It is plastic and won’t cause any damage to the surface that you are trying to remove it from. They also do a liquid you put on the sealant and it loosen it but I have never used it. You can also use a fresh Stanley knife but it is easy to damage the surface if you’re not confident using it.

I find the best way to remove bath sealant is with a nice sharp Stanley knife, or you can also use a plastic bladed scraper to. It takes a bit of time but will come out eventually. Then just make sure all the surfaces are wiped done afterwards, then you can apply the new sealant.

Here at A Royal Flush Plumbing we remove a lot of sealant to carry out repairs and upgrade suites. my two main tools for this are a Stanley knife with a clean sharp blade and a bladed scraper. Once you have cut the sealant and then scraped it away a good wipe will remove the residue. We prefer Big Wipes. The ones for scrubbing and cleaning. The surface will be clean and sealant free ready to re seal if needs be
