Our original kitchen had served us well but was ready for retirement. Dave was recommended to us by another trusted tradesman and we are so glad he was! From his very first visit he 'got' it. He helped us plan the job within our budget, found the right tradesmen for the specialist jobs that needed doing and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with all that was being done. I should say we are two female pensioners so it is very important to us that we re able to trust all tradesmen who work in our home.

Dave meticulously researched, designed and built our new bi-fold hall door and surrounds – it now looks like an original feature of our 30yo house, and is just as well-built. He squeezed us in before Christmas and for weather reasons did everything from our open-plan lounge, yet left the house tidier than when he arrived, every day. An absolute master builder, carpenter and communicator.

Dave is thoughtful, courteous and communicative. He works hard and is always on time. He takes time to explain what's going on and checks-in to make sure you're happy with progression and any decisions required. He leaves the space cleaner than he finds it, and his work is to an exacting standard – precisely what you want! Dave helped us out of a tough spot, taking over a large failed decking job, with which we'd been left absolutely lost. He jumped to our rescue, put in effort to made the design his own, and completely overhauled it to create a solid, stable and beautifully crafted structure, of which we are so pleased. He has impeccable attention to detail, and is scrupulously tidy and organised, ensuring the site was safe throughout, and spotless at the end of each day. His friendly and respectful manner make him a pleasure to have around. We wish we'd found Dave the Saviour earlier! We'll definitely call on him again for all our carpentry work, and can't recommend him enough.

I had 10 internal doors fitted and in the past I have had bespoke fitted wardrobes built and fitted.. Every time the work is carried out in a timely and extremely tidy manner. The attention to detail is one of the main reasons I always use D Baker carpentry and also the friendly nature. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and will certainly be using again.

I was very impressed by Dave's outstanding workmanship, considering that this project was extremely finicky. Showing great attention to detail, Dave was extremely meticulous and tidy. He went out is way to give me very useful advice and explanations regarding the design and decoration of the wardrobes and the overall project with a lot of taste. His time keeping was excellent, and Dave was very courteous and always ready to help. I wouldn’t hesitate to use his services again and will happily recommend him to anyone.

We had decided to replace our existing balustrade with a different style to enable more light onto stairs.Dave came ,looked at the project ,gave us some ideas which we agreed with. We were given a price , Dave arrived on time every day , Duly completed the job to a high standard, to our total satisfaction ,was extremely clean ,always cleared up every day before leaving. As above when fitting new doors in our lounge. The door frames in our house not being the easiest as they are way out of square. Dave overcame all the problems posed and the doors look great.

Dave was recommended to us by another tradesman that we trust. He is very thorough, careful and considerate and is happy to discuss the various options for the work required. Dave fixed three wonky door frames for us, fitted glass above the frames, hung new doors and fitted all the door furniture (hinges, locks etc.). He gave us advice about what glass to order and kept in touch with us throughout regarding progress on the job. He's very friendly and keeps everything very neat and tidy.

The installation of the new kitchen was a real challenge for Dave, as the previous kitchen had hidden a number of major issues, which only became evident when the old kitchen was removed. Dave dealt with these potential issues in a positive and structured manner, approaching each issue calmly and with immense skill. Dave was brilliant at co ordinating the input of the other trades, and he became the ‘project manager ‘ - a task that we never expected him to take on. We are so pleased that he did this for us because if he hadn’t been so proactive our kitchen would still not have been installed. Dave demonstrated a real need to complete the job and to give us the kitchen that we so badly wanted. Dave was always incredibly positive, polite and reliable. Dave came highly recommended by another skilled tradesman and we had previously used him to hang new internal doors throughout our house. He was extremely thorough, really researching into the best option for building the frame for our garage doors and finding the best hinges for a fussy customer with a particular look in mind! I have used many carpenters as I used to have a salon and had to get lots of bespoke pieces made to fit spaces, in my new home in Brighton Dave has by far been the best. I was recommended to use him so already had high expectations but he exceeded all expectations. From quote of works to completion everything was super straight forward. During the quoting for the various jobs that were required, a thorough brief was jotted down and every aspect measured and checked. Including making suggestion I might not have even thought of to increase the look and usability of the space. During the works every day coming home to a cleaned up home, where due care was taken to ensure any disruption was minimised and all building work mess was promptly cleaned up. Went the extra mile to do a few other on the spot jobs, nothing was too much trouble. Attention to the smallest detail, and I 100% think all of his jobs are done as if working in his own home.
